Lightning Bolts will be starting a new tradition at Valencia this year! Because of the the great success of last year's Walk and Roll to School event sponsored by the Safe Routes to School organization and the city of Pico Rivera, the school will be starting Walk and Roll Fridays. Every Friday, students and their families are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes to school. Families who normally drive to school are encouraged to park a few blocks away from school and enjoy the weather and the health benefits of walking to school. The Safe Routes to School organization will be providing a small prize for all participating students at our inaugural event this Friday, October 3, 2014. So put your walking shoes on or grab your helmet and handlebars and join us for this fun new event!
