Welcome to Valencia Elementary – a wonderful school in a charming setting, which celebrates students and nurtures scholarship. Valencia strives to develop student academic achievement through rigorous instruction and innovative child-centered programs which strengthen student connections to our local and global communities as well as to the natural world. We offer an inspiring environment for the education of girls and boys from Transitional Kindergarten through Grade Five, in the unyielding belief that each and every child has the potential for excellence and deserves the opportunity to reach the highest levels of education. Through teaching of the highest caliber, students are expected and encouraged to excel academically and develop socially. Valencia’s devotion to bringing out the best in each pupil lies at the heart of our educational philosophy. Valencia Lightning Bolts acquire skills, which will enable them to sustain an enduring love of learning and facilitates their on-going pursuit of higher education. Our Character Counts program and supportive family atmosphere also helps to cultivate in students, a lasting sense of social and civic responsibility. Parent Support at Home from the Council of Great City Schools

Heroes Day at Valencia
Each year, as part of our civic education program, Valencia Elementary honors its community heroes. Please help us commemorate our country’s dedicated first-responders as we honor all of our country’s service professions on Thursday, September 11, 2014.
Valencia Elementary will be conducting the following activities to commemorate this special day:
 Start-of-school flag salute and moment of silence
 All students and staff will wear red, white and blue
 Class learning activities about the history and contributions of our nation’s first responder professions such as nurses, fire-fighters, paramedics, law enforcement and armed services

We are encouraging families to talk with their children about this important aspect of our community. Thank you for your continued support of our students!
