Principal's Message

Welcome to Valencia Elementary – a wonderful school in a charming setting, which celebrates students and nurtures scholarship. Valencia strives to develop student academic achievement through rigorous instruction and innovative child-centered programs which strengthen student connections to our local and global communities as well as to the natural world. We offer an inspiring environment for the education of girls and boys from Transitional Kindergarten through Grade Five, in the unyielding belief that each and every child has the potential for excellence and deserves the opportunity to reach the highest levels of education.

Through teaching of the highest caliber, students are expected and encouraged to excel academically and develop socially. Valencia’s devotion to bringing out the best in each pupil lies at the heart of our educational philosophy. Valencia Lightning Bolts acquire skills, which will enable them to sustain an enduring love of learning and facilitates their on-going pursuit of higher education. Our Character Counts program and supportive family atmosphere also helps to cultivate in students, a lasting sense of social and civic responsibility.

2014-2015 Calendar Updates Announced
The new school year will kick off on August 20 when ERUSD will welcome students back from summer break.

Holidays include Labor Day on September 1, Admissions Day on November 10, Veterans’ Day on November 11, Thanksgiving Break on November 24-28 and Winter Recess on December 22-January 9.

Other holidays include Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on January 19, Lincoln’s Day on February 9, President's Day on February 16, Spring Recess on April 6-10 and Memorial Day on May 25.

The final day of classes for the 2014-2015 school year is June 11.

5th Grade State Reports
Our 5th graders have been working diligently on their upcoming Projects.
Spring Into Health Fair
The El Rancho Unified School District will be hosting its 4th annual Spring Into Health Fair on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 9 am to 1 pm at the El Rancho Education Center, 9426 Marjorie Street, Pico Rivera.

Vendors will be present to assist in promoting health awareness, free health screenings, free immunizations for children ages 5 to 19 as well as providing information on Covered California - California's new affordable health coverage exchange. The community will have the opportunity to enjoy games for the children, participate in raffles and enjoy live entertainment.
